Nestled amongst the sand dunes of the Indian Ocean, Naara Eco Lodge & Spa offers luxury accommodation on the banks of the Nhambavale Lake in Chidenguele. The Lodge strives to support its local community and operate in harmony with the environment. As such, 80% of its energy is derived directly from the sun and they champion recycling and responsible tourism in their area.
The Lodge offers accommodation in ten deluxe safari tents on the two-hectare property. The tents are set on permanent structures with large front doors allowing for beautiful lake views. Each tent is also strategically placed to ensure privacy. Relax on the covered verandah of the tent or inside the spacious bedroom area. The indoor en-suite facility opens to a private secluded garden, where an outdoor shower is found. Dining at Naara Lodge is a treat with a merger of local ingredients and gourmet international cuisine. The kitchen is supplied by regionally and locally grown organic vegetables and fruits. The seafood is acquired through sustainable and ethical means, mostly purchased from community-based fishermen.
The Nhambavale Lake gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy swimming, floating, freshwater fishing, kayaking, windsurfing and kite surfing. Other popular activities include birding and nature and community walks. The ocean is approximately 2 km from the Lodge.
